I never thought I’d say this but I think I might have found a new Tarot deck to replace “The Mythic Tarot” set I’ve been using for more than 17 years. Like many readers I have bought several different decks that have appealed to me in some way, but I always seemed to stick with the deck I knew best. I tried “The Transparent Tarot” deck and thought that they were a possibility but even though I still love them I didn’t click with them in the long term.

Trying out The Truth Seeker’s Tarot was a different experience altogether. As far as aesthetics go it was love at first sight; the colours in the images are strong and vibrant. You can feel the fiery energy coming through in the wands cards immediately; the use of colour captures the essence of fire wonderfully. The same applies to all the suits in this deck; the cups are watery and dreamy, the swords are crisp and revitalising, whilst the pentacles perfectly impart the influence of finances and material matters.

One of the things that bugged me slightly about the Mythic Tarot deck was the court cards. I often wished that the court cards were more dynamic and animated rather than always simply sitting or standing face on. You can tell a lot about the dynamics between to people that appear in a reading based on whether or not they are facing each other. However, the court cards in Truth Seeker’s Tarot are the complete opposite; there is plenty of action and lots of detail.

Every card in the deck is colourful detailed and expressive with gold foil flashes that make them seem even more precious. I can honestly say that even after 17 years of learning Tarot this new deck has helped me turn yet another corner on my Tarot journey.

They are also, perfectly sized. I found that clients sometmes had trouble shuffling the slightly larger Mythic Tarot deck. It’s still early days but something tells me that this is the beginning of a life long relationship. Now to break in my cards, don’t you just hate it when they’re all shiny and new?

I have been the proud owner of The Transparent Tarot Deck for a few months now and they still fascinate me. Bravo to Emily Carding for taking such an innovative approach to something so steeped in tradition. These cards are not a novelty, they are revolutionary.

Since it’s often the interplay of two or more cards that tell the story in a spread, the opportunity to merge 2, 3 or even 4 cards together into a visual story, brings a whole new dimension to reading Tarot.

These card do not rely on gimmicky images to stand out from the norm, in fact the subtle imagery of The Transparent Tarot cards does stay true to the familiar symbolism found in more traditional decks. These cards are simple and stylish with a quirk.

Emily Carding’s interpretations of the cards are written with thought and care, it’s obvious that these Tarot cards were developed with insight, creativity and intelligence.

The Transparent Tarot is a joy to get to know, I would recommend this deck to any reader at any level. In my opinion they are perfect, exactly what I’ve spent the last decade looking for.
